An American man was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for engaging in illegal activities and receiving cryptocurrency on the dark web.

PANews reported on February 18 that, according to the U.S. Department of Justice website, an American man from Glendale has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for engaging in illegal activities such as selling various drugs and receiving cryptocurrency on the dark web marketplace. Law enforcement agencies disclosed that all related illegal transactions were settled in cryptocurrency. This operation is part of an interagency effort to combat transnational crime, drug trafficking networks, and human trafficking, with the goal of systematically cracking down on criminal organizations and their supply chains that rely on the dark web.
