The US core PCE price index rose more than expected.

PANews reported on February 20th that, according to Jinshi Data, the US core PCE price index for December recorded an annualized rate of 3%, a new high since February 2025, exceeding market expectations of 2.9%. The preliminary estimate for the annualized quarterly rate of US real GDP in the fourth quarter was 1.4%, a new low since the first quarter of 2025, lower than the market expectation of 3.0%. US GDP growth in 2025 is projected at 2.2%, lower than the 2.8% in 2024.
