PANews reported on February 28 that US officials stated the airstrikes were aimed at destroying Iran's security apparatus. They added that the airstrikes against Iran are expected to be very widespread.

Iranian media outlet Fars News reported that explosions were heard in Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah.
