Sam Altman: Government-led AGI might be appropriate, but the nationalization of OpenAI is unlikely.

PANews reported on March 1st that OpenAI founder Sam Altman released a summary after his latest AMA (Ask Me Anything). When asked about the potential consequences of the US government attempting to nationalize OpenAI or other AI projects, Altman stated that he cannot predict the outcome. While government-led development of AGI (Asynchronous Generated Internet of Things) may have been more appropriate in the long run, nationalization is not highly probable given the current trajectory. However, he emphasized that close cooperation between the government and AI companies is "extremely important." He noted that people take security "guarantees" for granted but often underestimate the enormous investment and effort required behind them. He believes this is generally a good thing, but still requires more respect and understanding.
