South Korea's KOSPI index briefly triggered a circuit breaker during trading, closing down 12.11% at 5090.79 points. Japan's Nikkei 225 index closed down 3.61%, marking its largest drop since April 2025.
Selling pressure intensified in Japanese and South Korean stock markets, with the KOSPI closing down more than 12%.
