Trump: There are currently no plans to deploy ground troops to Iran.

PANews reported on March 8th, citing CCTV News, that US President Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, en route to Miami, Florida, that the US currently has no plans to deploy ground troops to Iran, stating that the issue is "not suitable for public discussion." Trump indicated that any future ground action would require "very strong justification," and suggested that targets might include Iranian nuclear or energy facilities, but stressed that the US currently relies primarily on airstrikes against Iran. Trump also stated that he does not want Kurdish forces to intervene in the conflict with Iran, as this would further complicate matters.
