Illinois primary: Candidate backed by Fairshake loses, crypto-friendly legislator fails to win.

PANews reported on March 18th, citing CoinDesk, that Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton won the state's Democratic Senate primary, defeating Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, who received over $8 million in support from the crypto political action committee Fairshake. Because the seat is rated a "solid Democrat," Stratton is projected to win the November general election and enter the Senate in 2027. Fairshake's advertising strategy targeted Stratton rather than directly supporting Krishnamoorthi. Another candidate opposed by Fairshake, La Shawn Ford, also won the House primary, for which Fairshake spent nearly $2 million.
