US Secretary of State: Iran's permanent control of the Strait of Hormuz will never be allowed.

PANews reported on March 30 that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US will not allow Iran to permanently control the Strait of Hormuz or establish a toll system. In a media interview that day, Rubio said the US aims to achieve its military objectives against Iran "within weeks, not months." He said, "He (President Trump) favors a diplomatic approach. These efforts are still in their early stages. Some negotiations are underway, including through intermediaries." Rubio added, "But we must also be prepared for these efforts to potentially fail," and that Iran "is threatening to permanently control the Strait of Hormuz, establish a toll system, etc. This will not be allowed to happen."
