PANews reported on April 3 that OpenAI announced the launch of a pay-as-you-go "Codex-only" seat for ChatGPT Business and Enterprise teams. This seat has no fixed annual fee, is billed based on token usage, and offers unlimited speed, making it convenient for small teams to pilot the service and scale as needed. Simultaneously, the annual fee for the standard ChatGPT Business seat has been reduced from $25 to $20. Eligible ChatGPT Business workspaces will receive a $100 usage credit for each new Codex-only member, with a maximum of $500 per team. This offer is for a limited time only. OpenAI stated that there are currently over 2 million Codex builders using it weekly, and the number of Codex users within Business and Enterprise has increased approximately sixfold since January of this year.
