Reports indicate that one crew member of the US fighter jet shot down over Iran has been rescued.

PANews reported on April 4th that, according to Axios, an Israeli official and another source familiar with the matter told Axios that one of the two crew members of a US fighter jet shot down over Iran has been found and rescued by US special forces, while the other is still being searched for. Iran is also searching for the two crew members and has appealed to local civilians to participate in the search. This is the first time a US warplane has been shot down by enemy fire since the start of the war. Sources said that both crew members ejected successfully after the F-15 fighter jet was hit by Iranian fire. US special forces have located one of the crew members inside Iran and rescued him alive.

A senior Israeli official said Israel canceled its planned attack on Iran to avoid affecting search and rescue efforts.
