According to PANews on April 4th, the Qinzhou District People's Court in Tianshui, Gansu Province, recently tried a criminal case involving the retrieval of cash packages using virtual currency. The defendant, working as a "high-paying errand runner," knowingly withdrew a total of over 390,000 yuan in cash over seven days in areas without surveillance coverage, converting the funds into virtual currency and transferring it to his superior, profiting 21,500 yuan in the process. The court found him guilty of concealing and covering up the proceeds of crime, sentencing him to two years and four months imprisonment, a fine of 10,000 yuan, and ordering him to return the illegal gains.
A Gansu court tried a cryptocurrency money laundering case, and the defendant was sentenced for using a "high-paying errand runner" position to withdraw and exchange USDT for fraudulent proceeds.
