Ledger unveils AI security roadmap, with hardware wallets acting as the "human final jury" in the proxy economy.

PANews reported on April 14th that, according to The Block, hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has released an AI security roadmap for the "agentic economy," emphasizing maintaining a "human presence" when AI agents manage funds and perform tasks. Ledger appointed former Chief Experience Officer and board member Ian Rogers as its first "Chief Human Agency Officer," responsible for its AI strategy. Ledger stated that its hardware devices can serve as the final confirmation layer for all AI agent transactions. Currently, MoonPay has integrated Ledger devices to implement a model where AI agents propose transactions, and users approve them on the hardware. The 2026 roadmap includes: launching hardware-bound identity for AI agents, hardware-enforced spending/contract permission policies, and a "proof of human" mechanism to verify that the agent is backed by a real individual and to curb bots and multi-account behavior.
