PANews reported on April 15 that, according to Lebanon's Al-Ahram TV, a senior Iranian political and security source stated that the ceasefire in Lebanon will be approved tonight under Iranian supervision and pressure. The ceasefire is reportedly scheduled for one week and will be extended until the end of the ceasefire period between Iran and the United States. The source added that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, as a disruptive factor, could potentially take further action to undermine the agreement. Previously, the Associated Press, citing mediators, reported that the US-Iran ceasefire was being discussed for an extension, with both sides agreeing in principle to extend the ceasefire. However, this was subsequently denied by both Iranian sources and another US media outlet.
Sources: The ceasefire in Lebanon is expected to take effect tonight; Netanyahu may again undermine the agreement.
