Hyperbridge has revised its estimated losses from the gateway contract attack to approximately $2.5 million.

PANews reported on April 16 that Hyperbridge announced its token gateway was attacked on April 13. Initial losses have been revised upwards from approximately $237,000 to approximately $2.5 million, primarily affecting incentive pools on Ethereum , Base , BNB Chain , and Arbitrum. The attackers first withdrew approximately 245 ETH from the relevant TokenGateway contract , then bypassed MMR proof verification by forging cross-chain messages , minting 1 billion cross-chain DOTs and dumping them in illiquid pools. Polkadot native DOT , other bridged DOTs , and Hyperbridge 's Intent Gateway and its products were unaffected. Currently, only the Token Gateway and bridged DOT contracts on the aforementioned four EVM chains remain suspended.
