PANews reported on May 1 that, according to a retweet from the official Ethereum Twitter account on the X platform, the Ethereum Applications Guild (EAG) has officially launched. As a global non-profit collaborative organization, it aims to support the development of the Ethereum application ecosystem, promote its expansion from the infrastructure stage to the application layer, and will operate around four main directions: promoting the implementation of real-world applications, connecting cross-domain ecosystem networks, establishing a unified evaluation and development framework, and building a sustainable funding mechanism.
EAG employs a dual-track system: first, a membership contribution system based on institutional size (such as valuation, market capitalization, or AUM); second, a mechanism for donating ETH staking rewards to the ecosystem growth fund. EAG also launched its 2026 Global Application and Developer Program, which will showcase developer education, hackathons, and research projects, and strengthen local developer communities through regional roadshows and ecosystem demonstrations.
