PANews reported on May 12 that, according to The Block, a federal grand jury has indicted three Tennessee men for allegedly participating in a cryptocurrency robbery spanning multiple California cities, involving approximately $6.5 million. The three suspects, Elijah Armstrong, Nino Chindavanh, and Jayden Rucker, are charged with conspiring to kidnap and rob victims in San Francisco, San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Los Angeles. The suspects, posing as deliverymen, entered the victims' homes, used firearms, duct tape, and cable ties to assault them, and forced one victim to relinquish access to their cryptocurrency account, transferring approximately $6.5 million in crypto assets to wallets under their control. The three are charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and kidnapping. If convicted, each count of attempted robbery and kidnapping carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, while each count of attempted kidnapping carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
