PANews reported on May 19 that, according to Xinhua News Agency, the leaders of China and the United States exchanged views on artificial intelligence (AI) during their meeting. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated at a regular press conference on May 19 that, as two major AI powers, China and the United States should work together to promote the development and governance of AI, and to help AI better serve the progress of human civilization and the common well-being of the international community. During US President Trump's visit to China, the two leaders had constructive exchanges on AI and agreed to conduct an intergovernmental dialogue on AI.
