PANews reported on May 18th, citing CoinDesk, that several leaders of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee urged President Trump to promptly appoint the four missing CFTC commissioners. The agency, currently with only one commissioner remaining, is being tasked with assuming expanding regulatory responsibilities for crypto assets. In their letter, lawmakers warned that the CFTC's current staffing, on the eve of the potential passage of the Clariability Act, would be insufficient to implement new regulatory authority in a timely and effective manner, potentially weakening its regulatory enforcement capabilities and hindering the progress of rule implementation in the crypto market.
