PANews reported on May 25th, citing MacRumors, that Apple is preparing to launch the subdomain genai.apple.com, but it currently does not point to any actual webpage. Apple added the genai.apple.com subdomain to its name server a few weeks before its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Apple has promised to announce "AI advancements" on its software platforms at WWDC. Apple's website already has an Apple Intelligence page, and while its plans for this subdomain are unclear, they are likely related to generative artificial intelligence.
Major software releases such as iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 are expected to include several new Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized, screen-aware version of Siri. A standalone Siri app is reportedly expected to allow users to have two-way conversations with Siri. Apple Intelligence will also support automatic video captioning, natural language support for voice control, shortcut creation, automatic naming of Safari tab groups, and Visual Intelligence scanning of food nutrition labels and business card information for addition to contacts. The WWDC 2026 keynote will begin at 1:00 AM Beijing time on June 9th.
