The former Greek finance minister, who previously owned 2,000 bitcoins before donating them, now admits to feeling "sad" due to the soaring price.

PANews reported on May 30th that, according to an interview with NEWS 24/7, former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis stated that he once held 2,000 Bitcoins, which he later donated. However, he expressed regret regarding the subsequent price of Bitcoin after the donation. The main reason was his opposition to the ideology behind Bitcoin at the time; he considered it an "oligopoly currency," a dangerous illusion of depoliticized money, and unable to escape the framework of politics and public governance.
