a16z led a funding round for AI startup Special.

PANews reported on June 3 that, according to Techinasia, Special, an AI startup founded by former U.S. Department of Efficiency members Nate Cavanaugh and Justin Fox, has completed a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Investors include Antonio Gracias, founder of Valor Equity Partners; Anthony Armstrong, former CFO of xAI; Steve Davis; Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase; and Shyam Sankar, CTO of Palantir Technologies.

Special plans to reduce costs through acquisitions and leveraging AI. The company also announced an agreement to acquire a Texas healthcare company, which will be incorporated into Figure Health's business line, which focuses on the aging population.
