The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) issued a joint consultation conclusion on revising the rules governing over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives trading under the Settlement Rules.

PANews reported on June 5 that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) have released a joint consultation conclusion on revising the provisions on over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives transactions under the Securities and Futures (OTC Derivatives Transactions – Settlement and Record Keeping Duties and Designation of Central Counterparties) Rules. They have decided to designate two standard calculation periods annually (March 1 to May 31 and September 1 to November 30) from March 1, 2027, replacing the current practice of periodically revising the list of calculation periods through legislation.
