PANews reported on June 11 that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated on the X platform that Coinbase has received approval to offer global crypto perpetual contracts to users in the United States. He noted that for years, crypto trading has shifted overseas due to a lack of clear regulations in the US, and perpetual contracts are a desirable but unavailable product for traders. He estimated that approximately half of the perpetual contract trading volume comes from Americans using VPNs to access loosely regulated offshore products.
