Joint Statement by Qatar and Pakistan: First High-Level US-Iran Talks Conclude, Parties Agree on 60-Day Roadmap

PANews, June 22 – According to Jinshi reports, Qatar and Pakistan have issued a joint statement. The statement noted that the first round of high-level talks, held under the framework of the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, has concluded in Switzerland. Based on the memorandum of understanding, all parties agreed to establish a high-level committee to provide political oversight for mediation efforts. The chief negotiators will report regularly to the high-level committee. The high-level committee has agreed on a timeline to reach a final agreement within 60 days, laying the groundwork for the immediate launch of further technical talks. In addition, all parties agreed to set up a conflict de-escalation coordination group between the relevant parties and the Republic of Lebanon, with assistance provided by the mediators, to ensure the cessation of military operations in Lebanon in accordance with the memorandum of understanding. For the remainder of this week, technical talks will continue on all issues at the Bürgenstock Resort in Switzerland.
