PANews, June 27 - According to Bloomberg, Paul Meade, the Apple executive in charge of the Vision Pro and smart glasses projects, is about to leave the company to join OpenAI. Paul Meade joined Apple in 2010, initially working on the iPhone and iPad teams. In 2017, he moved to the Vision Products team and has served as the head of the Vision Pro hardware engineering team. Recently, he has been primarily responsible for advancing the AI smart glasses project and leading the AR glasses development team.

Meade will leave Apple next week and join OpenAI's hardware division to work on AI device research and development. Fletcher Rothkopf (IT Home note: Fletcher Rothkopf), the current head of product design for Vision Pro and smart glasses, will take over his responsibilities.
