PANews reported on January 8th that Josh Swihart, former CEO of ECC, announced that due to serious disagreements with some directors of Bootstrap (ZCAM), the governance body of Zcash, the entire ECC (Electric Coin Company) resigned yesterday and will establish a new company to continue developing Zcash-related privacy technologies. Swihart emphasized that the Zcash protocol itself remains unaffected, and this move aims to resist disruptive interference from the governance layer and ensure the team's sustainable advancement towards its vision of an "unstoppable private currency."
The entire ECC team, the support organization for Zcash, has resigned to form a new company to continue the mission of privacy currency.
