PANews 10月22日消息，由 Y Combinator 前总裁Sam Altman、Alex Blania、Max Novendstern共同创立的Worldcoin项目更新了进展，该项目正在部分地区进行实地测试，几个月之后将进行全球发布，项目目前的估值为10亿美元。

此前消息，Worldcoin完成2500万美元融资，a16z、Coinbase Ventures、LinkedIn创始人Reid Hoffman、Day One Ventures等参投。Worldcoin计划发行一种全球性的数字货币，通过其开发的一种状似篮球的银色装置（Orb）扫描虹膜来形成独特的个人识别码，以确定个人身份。
