PANews 2月12日消息，牙买加总理安德鲁·霍尔尼斯（Andrew Holness）在推特发文表示，继试点项目取得成功后，牙买加央行将于今年推出数字货币。新计划将为该国的数字支付服务，并促进金融普惠、提高交易速度以及降低公民的银行成本。2021年12月，牙买加央行表示已成功发行2.3亿数字牙买加元。
