PANews reported on April 10 that according to Jinshi, Hassett, director of the U.S. National Economic Council, said that the volatility of the bond market was not the direct reason for Trump to suspend tariffs, but it may have added "a little urgency" to the decision. "Everything is going on in an orderly manner. There is no doubt that the Treasury market reacted in this way yesterday. You know, it's time to act, I think, maybe more urgently. But it will happen," Hassett said. Overnight on Wednesday, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rose to more than 4.5%, the 30-year Treasury yield soared to more than 5%, and bond prices plummeted.
