The US's seizure of 127,000 bitcoins may be related to the LuBian mining pool theft

PANews reported on October 14th that @tier10k revealed that the US government is seeking to confiscate approximately 127,271 Bitcoin (approximately $14 billion) suspected to be linked to the 2020 LuBian mining pool theft. Arkham on-chain analysis shows that approximately 127,426 BTC were transferred from the LuBian mining pool address at the time, and the hacker has not moved the funds since.

LuBian is a Bitcoin mining pool with facilities in China and Iran. The stolen assets were valued at approximately $3.5 billion at the time of the incident, and are now valued at over $1.4 billion. Arkham noted that neither LuBian nor the hackers have publicly commented on the matter. Analysts believe the US may be targeting this long-dormant, massive wallet. However, if the wallet is indeed stolen assets, it remains highly uncertain whether the US can actually control the relevant keys.
