3月1日消息尼日利亚证交会（SEC）已经认识到加密资产等数字资产的重要性，并承诺致力于为数字资产部门开发有效的监管框架。SEC总干事Lamido Yuguda表示，SEC致力于通过技术加强该国的金融普惠性。据他介绍，SEC意识到金融科技对金融业的颠覆性影响，并致力于创造一个有利的监管环境，以确保投资者保护和技术进步之间的平衡。 Yuguda称，SEC将努力开发一个全面的监管框架，以确保加密资产领域的运营商以保护投资者和维护金融系统稳定的方式开展活动：“SEC将继续监测数字资产领域的发展，并进一步与包括尼日利亚央行（CBN）在内的所有关键利益相关者进行接触和合作，以创建一个监管结构，促进经济发展，同时促进安全、创新和透明的资本市场。”根据他的说法，SEC的做法与世界各地几个证券监管机构的做法是一致的，比如美国SEC也要求提供数字资产证券交易和作为交易所运营的平台注册或寻求豁免注册。 2月6日消息，尼日利亚央行宣布全面禁止比特币及其他数字资产交易，并要求金融机构关闭加密货币相关银行账户。尼日利亚SEC随后宣布叫停加密货币监管计划，以支持尼日利亚央行推行的加密禁令。（The Nation）
