PANews reported on December 26 that blockchain detective ZachXBT revealed in an article on X that an account impersonating a victim of the Trust Wallet vulnerability was actually a scammer. The account had changed its username more than 44 times, participated in multiple meme coin scams, posted very few articles, and had its own information blocked in advance, all in an attempt to gain attention and interaction through the incident. The report warns users to be wary of fake victim narratives.
