PANews reported on October 15 that the International Monetary Fund released a fiscal monitoring report stating that the proportion of global public debt to GDP will hit a new high since 1948, and predicted that global public debt will exceed 100% of GDP by 2029; it urged countries to establish fiscal buffers to cope with shocks.
