Arkham: German government fails to seize $5 billion worth of Bitcoin

PANews reported on September 6th that Arkham tweeted that it had discovered that the German government had failed to seize $5 billion worth of Bitcoin. In early 2024, German police seized 49,858 Bitcoins from the operators of the pirated movie website Movie2K. In July 2024, the government sold these Bitcoins for $2.89 billion, at an average price of $57,900. Currently, it appears that Movie2K still has over 45,000 Bitcoins in its wallet, nearly matching the amount seized and worth $5 billion.
