Analysis: The US government may have been behind the LuBian mining pool theft, which, if true, would be the largest financial hack in history.

According to PANews on October 15th, on-chain sleuth ZachXBT posted on the X platform that documents released by the US government yesterday revealed that the wallet addresses listed in the $14 billion (127,000 BTC) seized by the US government were previously named in the MilkySad report approximately two years ago, with their private keys being vulnerable. The US government now claims to have custody of these wallet addresses. In response, Arkham analyst Emmett Gallic stated after research that "the possibility that the US government orchestrated the LuBian mining pool theft is increasingly high. If true, the US government would be responsible for the largest financial hack in history." Although there is no definitive evidence to confirm this, Emmett Gallic believes that the future movements of the "LuBian hacker" addresses marked on Arkham will be sufficient evidence to support this conclusion.

Earlier news reported that LuBian was attacked in December 2020, with a total of 127,426 BTC stolen. The 127,000 BTC seized by the US government yesterday came from this fund.
