Vitalik: Maintain sovereignty, reject corposlop

PANews reported on January 10th that Vitalik Buterin analyzed the difference between "corposlop web" (corporate spam web) and "sovereign web" in a social media post. He defined "corposlop" as a combination of corporate optimization capabilities, a seemingly respectable brand image, and dishonest behavior undertaken to maximize profits. Buterin stated that "corposlop" is a soulless, trend-following, and both evil and clumsy homogenization. He pointed out that the meaning of "sovereignty" has now expanded to include protecting digital privacy through encryption and protecting one's own thoughts from the psychic warfare of corporations aimed at extracting user attention and money. Buterin called on developers to build more sovereignty tools, such as:

1. Privacy-protecting, local-first applications.

2. Social media platforms where users can control what they see.

3. Financial instruments that help users grow their wealth, rather than encouraging 50x leverage or sports betting.

4. Open, privacy-focused, and local-friendly AI tools.

5. Applications, companies, and DAOs with a clear vision.

Vitalik concluded that sovereignty should be maintained, corroslop should be rejected, and there should be belief in something. He summarized it as: "Maintain sovereignty, reject corroslop, and believe in something."
