Aave founder Stani proposes reforming the Ethereum Foundation's budget and operational structure

PANews reported on January 20 that Aave founder Stani Kulechov tweeted and proposed improvement suggestions for the Ethereum Foundation (EF) 2024 budget report, pointing out that EF currently has problems with excessive spending and fund management, and suggested the following measures to achieve sustainable development:

1. Cut expenses and staff : Cut annual expenses from $130 million to $30 million, limit the number of employees to 80, and even suggest reducing it to 50.

2. Optimize team structure : dismiss unnecessary positions, including executives, consultants, part-time roles, interns, etc., ensure that 80% of the team are technical personnel, and divide them into small 5-person technical teams, each focusing on a specific area.

3. Reform the leadership structure : Establish a 5-member leadership committee, selected based on ability, with Vitalik as chairman.

4. Strengthen fund management : Internalize the fund management team, diversify treasury assets to low-risk long-term assets (LRSTs), DeFi projects and Ethereum ecosystem profitable projects, use staking income to convert into stablecoins, and obtain additional income through DeFi; optimize fund flow through Aave lending when ETH performs strongly.

5. Establish a revenue model : Build a sustainable revenue model through transaction fees or staking income to support a reasonable EF budget.

Stani emphasized that the current large team size could easily lead to communication gaps, and proposed streamlining it to a more efficient scale and focusing on long-term sustainable development.
