PANews reported on April 29 that according to The Block, Vitalik and StarkWare-backed Kakarot announced the development of an independent Ethereum zero-knowledge proof (ZK) stack, with plans to achieve real-time Layer 1 block proof by the end of 2025. Kakarot is built on the Cairo language and uses the STARK system to avoid dependence on the existing mainstream ZK technology stack. It aims to enhance the diversity and system resilience of Ethereum ZK verification and help achieve Ethereum's goal of full ZK in 2028.
