PANews reported on November 20th that, according to The Block, Samourai Wallet co-founder William Lonergan Hill was sentenced to four years in prison by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for helping launder over $237 million. He was also fined $250,000 and sentenced to three years of supervised release. He and CEO Keonne Rodriguez pleaded guilty in July, and Rodriguez was sentenced to five years in prison on November 6th. The two concealed the source of funds through services such as "Whirlpool" and "Ricochet," and actively promoted their cryptocurrency mixing services on the dark web. They paid a total of $6.3 million in fines.
