PANews reported on August 21st that, according to the Workers' Daily, the Beijing Second Intermediate People's Court heard a case involving the use of virtual currency transactions to conceal criminal proceeds. The defendant, Liu, knowing that the funds were criminal proceeds, assisted in the transfer of 200,000 yuan in USDT. He was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 40,000 yuan. The illegal proceeds were recovered. The court reminded that assisting in the transfer of virtual currency or funds of unknown origin may violate the criminal law and face criminal penalties.
