根据比特币核心开发者Pieter Wuille在GitHub上提交的代码，Taproot/Schnorr软分叉升级提案（BIP340-342）已于10月15日早间正式在Bitcoin Core上实施。提案激活后，将为比特币带来更好的交易能力，同时增加网络的隐私特性。 Schnorr签名是Pieter Wuille一直倡导引入比特币协议的技术拓展。Pieter Wuille于2019年5月提出Taproot/Schnorr软分叉升级提案，随后该提案被作为比特币改进提案（BIP）发布，相关提案序号分别为BIP340、341、342。
