柬埔寨国家银行已正式推出基于分布式账本技术(DLT)的新型支付系统。该系统是由日本区块链公司Soramitsu联合开发的，是“Bakong计划”的一部分。柬埔寨国家银行行长Chea Serey表示，该系统主要目的是为柬埔寨的移民工人提供更好的汇款方式，以及鼓励更多地使用当地货币里尔。该平台并非为央行数字货币设计。柬埔寨约有20家银行参与了该项目。
