Industry insider: Social engineering attacks on crypto job seekers on the rise

PANews reported on December 29 that according to News.bitcoin, social engineering attacks are increasingly targeting the crypto industry. Blockchain expert @tayvano_ revealed that threat actors impersonate recruiters from companies such as Kraken, Gemini, and Meta to lure victims. They initiate contact through LinkedIn or Telegram, offering attractive job opportunities, and then the victims are directed to a fake video interview website, where they unknowingly install malware that allows attackers to access their computers, potentially draining their crypto wallets. Job seekers should remain vigilant, as these malicious means can have devastating consequences, and stay safe and cautious during the job search process.
