PANews reported on October 24 that Ethereum developers Tomasz K. Stańczak and Vitalik Buterin expressed their respective views on the adjustment of the Gas mechanism of the Ethereum mainnet. Stańczak expressed support for doubling the Gas target of the Ethereum mainnet, but emphasized that repricing should be minimized and only some opcodes and precompilations (about 5) need to be adjusted. In contrast, Vitalik proposed a more detailed adjustment plan, suggesting a significant reduction in Gas fees, including reducing the current EVM opcode cost in the range of 2-5 to 1, reducing the 6-10 range to 2, and reducing the Gas cost of logging and precompilation by 4 times and targeted reductions respectively. He believes that this can increase Ethereum's TPS to 1.5 times without affecting key performance indicators. However, Vitalik also pointed out that increasing the maximum storage access may interfere with the development of Ethereum's statelessness, which is also his main concern.
