The Hong Kong Monetary Authority issued an anti-fraud alert impersonating its official website.

PANews reported on December 12 that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) issued a fraud prevention notice, stating that recent inquiries from the public have revealed fraudulent websites impersonating the HKMA logo, guiding users to trade cryptocurrencies or central bank digital currencies, and even requiring advance tax payments before withdrawals, which are all scams.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) solemnly declares that it will not proactively contact citizens to handle financial matters, nor will it request any form of transfer or payment.
