로이터 통신에 따르면, 유럽중앙은행(ECB) 정책위원이자 이탈리아 중앙은행 총재인 이그나지오 비스코(Ignazio Visco)는 "ECB는 즉시결제플랫폼을 활용해 디지털 유로를 출시하는 방안을 모색하고 있다"고 밝혔다. 이와 관련해 그는 "디지털 유로화 운용에 이탈리아 은행이 개발한 즉시결제 인프라 TIPS를 활용할 수 있다. TIPS는 디지털 유로 구현을 위한 주요 솔루션이 될 수 있다"고 설명했다.
