SlowMist CISO: MetaMask is experiencing a new type of scam that impersonates "2FA security verification," tricking users into entering mnemonic phrases.

PANews reported on January 5th that 23pds (Shan Ge), Chief Information Security Officer of SlowMist, issued a warning that a new type of scam has emerged on MetaMask, impersonating "2FA security verification" to trick users into entering mnemonic phrases. The fraudulent page uses a similar domain name to redirect users to a fake security alert and 2FA verification process, and includes elements such as countdowns and "authenticity verification" to increase credibility. The final step requires victims to submit their wallet's mnemonic phrase, resulting in the theft of their assets.

Reminder: The mnemonic phrase is only for initial wallet import or recovery. Any website verification request is high-risk.
