PANews reported on March 8 that the WeChat official account of the Chinese Embassy in Angola issued a reminder that Angola has issued the "Law on the Prohibition of Cryptocurrency and Other Virtual Asset Mining", which explicitly prohibits cryptocurrency and other virtual asset "mining" activities. The Chinese Embassy in Angola has specifically issued a reminder to Chinese citizens and institutions in Angola not to support or engage in virtual currency "mining" activities. It is reported that Angola has launched a special "Searchlight" operation to crack down on cryptocurrency "mining" activities throughout Angola.
