PANews reported on October 15th that Cloudflare, according to The Block, has announced a partnership with Visa, Mastercard, and American Express to establish an authentication standard for "agentic commerce." Cloudflare and Visa developed the Trusted Agent Protocol, building on their Web Bot Auth system to authenticate AI shopping agents; Mastercard and American Express will employ similar integrations to authenticate "trusted agents" within their respective AI frameworks. This initiative extends to machine-to-machine payment infrastructure. Cloudflare previously announced plans for the NET Dollar stablecoin and launched the x402 Foundation with Coinbase to standardize the agent payment protocol . Initial partners also include Adyen, Checkout.com, Circle, Fiserv, Microsoft, Nuvei, Shopify, Webflow, and Worldpay.
