PANews reported on September 25th that, according to CoinDesk, Gate Exchange announced the launch of Gate Layer , a Layer 2 blockchain built on the OP Stack and compatible with Ethereum . The official GT ( GateToken ) token mechanism was also upgraded. GT will serve as Gate Layer's sole gas token and will continue its double-burn model. Over 180 million GT have been destroyed to date , representing approximately 60% of the initial supply .
